“Why Art?” Christopher Street Day

One room is dedicated to the question “Why Art?”. Here one can see materials that Martin von Ostrowski used on various occasions, including cubes and boards inscribed with this question. In books the artist collected answers and counter-questions. These reactions from the audience and the props from the actions can be seen here together with two large-format wall pictures of performances.

The opening was accompanied by an art action in which visitors were asked for statements relating to: Why art?
