About the film:

Without a husband and children, you are not a real woman!

This is the comment on her relationship status that the Berlin-based director Olga Delane has to listen to whenever she visits her relatives in the small Siberian village of Onon-Brozya. It puts to the test not only Olga’s own life but also the question of the value of traditional relationships.
She herself remarks: “Too many Europeans sense for themselves that something is not right here in Europe. Loneliness is a big problem.”
Why that is, and what (love) life feels like among her relatives in a small Siberian village 8,000 km away, she shows us in her second documentary, which had its German premiere at the Achtung Berlin film festival on 22 April 2017.
The documentary Siberian Love is a poetic and sensitive observation of life in a small, remote Siberian village and an affectionate glimpse into the Russian soul.

About the project “All to the Cinema!”

The region of Transbaikalia and its capital, Chita, lie more than 8,000 km from Berlin.
Children there grow up surrounded by nature, but cultural offerings are very limited.
Children rarely have adult role models. The lack of attention from parents, who are busy with work, everyday life and often alcohol, easily leads the children to bad ideas.
There are no cultural activities that promote healthy development. Two or three times a year, small events take place in local club rooms.
To change the situation and give the children a chance to come into contact with culture, the project “All to the Cinema!” was launched in 2016.
In ten villages, the children were shown classic children’s films for three months, including film adaptations of literature from Pushkin to Jules Verne.
Their parents and teachers confirmed that afterwards the children were interested in literature and borrowed the books from the library.
You are welcome to contribute to the project’s development!
