Salon en chansons avec Bérangère Palix
16 May 2004

What does a bear hunter from the south of France do in a Berlin Löwenpalais? She takes the audience with her on a hunt through the highs and lows of the emotions and captures the hearts of her listeners. Longing, hope, joy, disappointment, anger or grief: all of them surface in the chansons that the spirited singer Bérangère (French for “bear hunter”) Palix stages so wonderfully with her tragicomic talent. On stage she appears as a bored Mona Lisa, a jealous lover, a megalomaniac variety artiste, a frustrated Johnny collector or, quite simply, an incorrigible dreamer…. She sings her own songs as well as French chansons by Aznavour, Vian, Lynda Lemay and others, in a new and refreshing interpretation.
At the piano she is accompanied by Jan Hofmann, who composed the piano music for the songs of Bérangère Palix.
