Art Against Violence

In the wake of the debate on foreigners that had been under way since September and the campaign on foreigners run on ZDF and ARD from December by four of Germany’s leading advertising agencies, the Stiftung Starke saw an opportunity to have artists address this subject.

Ms Pfeuffer had to give up her work at the foundation after the exhibition “Status of Sculpture” because of increased commitments at the university. The former assistant at the Galerie Maenz in Cologne therefore took over her post, as the new exhibition meant additional work for the foundation.

The exhibition comprised eleven artists of various nationalities, each of whom took a stance on the subject in his or her own way.
