Dirty Windows

The artists’ self-help gallery “Dirty Windows” is not a gallery in the strict sense at all. Founded by several artists who had not found a gallery, it is a loose association of artists who do not belong to any commercial gallery.

This “gallery” is located in the Kurfürstendamm underground station, and the exhibition space consists of three display cases, which the company that installed them provides free of charge to the artists. By its nature, this exhibition space is sufficient only for very small works, so that most artists create a work especially for these display cases.

To give the artists an opportunity to present larger works as well, the Stiftung Starke organised a group exhibition at the end of the year. The young artists are all between 25 and 40 years of age, with the emphasis mainly on the younger end.
