Artist in Residence I

Presentation of the projects and productions that emerged during the residency

The “Artist in Residence” programme is the key to the purpose of the Stiftung Starke. Within its framework, the Stiftung Starke provides living and studio space for a period of 3 to 12 months. Alongside the long-term studio funding, which in recent years it has been able to award to a large number of young emerging artists, short-term guest apartments are available that can be used by established artists. The Stiftung Starke also arranges a wide range of national and international contacts – for example with museums, galleries and other public institutions, but also with representatives from culture, science, business, sport and politics.

The careful preparation of encounters between young art and the business world is likewise an important concern of the programme. The programme also enables the residents, once their residency has ended, to present the projects and productions they developed during their stay at the Löwenpalais to a broad public in a suitable setting in the foundation’s own gallery spaces. The projects of the Stiftung Starke are accompanied academically by international curators.
