Artist in Residence
Work, exhibit, exchange
The artist-in-residence programme is at the heart of the foundation’s work. Artists from Germany and abroad live and work at the Löwenpalais for three to twelve months, show their work in the foundation’s spaces and become part of a network that has been growing for more than thirty years.
Give a young talent a year at the Löwenpalais.

Foundation & Löwenpalais
A house for the arts
The Stiftung Starke was founded in 1988 as a non-profit art foundation by Jörg Starke and his father Peter Starke. It is based at the Löwenpalais in Berlin-Grunewald, a villa built in 1903 that today houses studios, apartments and exhibition spaces for artists.
The foundation supports young art in every discipline – from painting and sculpture to music and performance, literature and new media.
