Obeah City
15 July – 15 August 2010

Obeah is a term from voodoo for the spirit world. The exhibition is about the search for roots in the urban jungle, about seeking out the spirits of the city, banishing them, or making them useful to oneself… About angels and vamps… about charlatans and gamblers… saints and possessed fools.
Nomad is one of the leading artists of the street art scene. This is his sixth solo exhibition, following Milan, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Berlin.
Now a solo exhibition at the Löwenpalais. Each work is created over a period of 10 to 14 days in response to the particular situation. Through many years of working on the street, the artist has learned to adapt to each situation and to draw the surroundings into his work. Nomad plays with the given surroundings, incorporates them and lets a new picture emerge.
The individual works stand on their own, but on closer inspection they form a whole.
