Wagner’s Couples
Concert of Works by R. Wagner
13 November 2016
Dear friends of the Stiftung Starke,
On 13 November 2016 at 7 pm we invite you to a special concert event. Under the motto “Wagner’s Couples” (“Wagners Paare”), excerpts from the operas Die Walküre, Siegfried and Lohengrin can be heard. Grand opera in an intimate setting!
Anna Warnecke, mezzo-soprano, and Felix Bruder, baritone, will sing
accompanied at the piano by the conductor and pianist Néstor Bayona
In Richard Wagner’s operas it is almost always conflicts between couples that drive the plot: the quarrel between the god Wotan and his wife Fricka; Friedrich Telramund at odds with his wife Ortrud. These are just two examples of ill-fated relationships that Wagner sets to music with such genius.
Doors open 6 pm
Start: 7 pm

We look forward to seeing you!
