The Paravent Project

These are pictures – or, more precisely, picture objects – standing on the floor, or better, in space. They are painted on both sides, but their almost existential peculiarity lies in the fact that the two picture surfaces cannot be viewed at the same time: there is only a front and a back, and between them dwells the imagination. It is born in the privacy of the artist, then lives with him or moves into the privacy of the collector, but it almost never sees the light of public attention. This has one positive effect but at the same time two negative ones: it lends the artist’s folding screen the aura of the special, but at the same time makes it appear marginal and removes it from public (museum) protection.
