Sometimes I entrust to the piano what I would like to tell you
Yao Yao Brandenburg was born on 2 December 1981 and has been familiar with the piano since the age of four. Until 1998 she studied at the Charlottenburg Music School in Berlin with Judith Brandenburg. During this time she held a scholarship from the Luige Prade Foundation. She was then admitted as a junior student to the Julius Stern Institute of the HdK (Berlin College of the Arts) for the promotion of young talent, where she studied with Prof. Rainer Becker until 2002.
Since finishing school in 2002 she has been studying at the Mozarteum University with Prof. Hans Leygraf.
She is a finalist of the Steinway competition and a prizewinner of the “Jugend musiziert” competition (1995, 1998, 2000, 2001) in both the solo and the chamber music categories. Her musical training has been enriched by courses with Prof. Annerose Schmidt, Prof. Klaus Helwig and Prof. Andrzej Jasinski.
