Young Art VIII, “Figurative”

Showing positions in contemporary, figurative and formal art.

Especially today, the attentive observer in museums, galleries, art associations and biennials quickly gets the impression that contemporary art nowadays consists only of conceptual, minimalist, photographic or video art.

Such a view, however, would not do justice to the diversity of the art currently being made.

With the series “Young Art I–XII” (“Junge Kunst I-XII”), the Stiftung Starke thus shows examples drawn from the works of young or young-at-heart artists, in order to document the diversity of the art movements currently in existence.

So the visitor to the exhibition Young Art VIII “Figurative” may enjoy a rare aesthetic pleasure, one that will not so readily be offered by another cultural institution.
