INDOORGAMES – Rebecca Horn’s Class

INDOORGAMESFor the second time since the exhibition at the Weinhaus Huth on Potsdamer Platz in 1996, students from Rebecca Horn’s class are presenting their work.

Their positions are in part international, and in this project they will express their Indoorgames through kinetic installations, video sculptures, phonetic works and performances.

The Löwenpalais of the Stiftung Starke, located in the former Grunewald artists’ colony, offers ideal spatial conditions for this.

The exhibition Indoorgames focuses on the authentic expression of different individual points of view. The aim is to create a field of tension ranging from process-oriented ways of working, personal documentation and ephemeral events within the exhibition to conceptual and strategic presentations.

In the human mind arose the all-determining illusion of possessing a “self” of one’s own. The separation of “I – inside” and “world – outside” is the origin of Indoorgames.

The works will be arranged choreographically according to the structure of the house, taking in the outer façade, the garden and the cellar. The way the building is received makes it an Indoorgame in itself.

An edition of 50 copies, featuring works by all the participants, is being produced to accompany the exhibition.
