17 October – 16 November 2008

The exhibition takes place on the occasion of the “European Month of Photography”.
The artists Daniel and Geo Fuchs have been working together on conceptual projects for 15 years. In their work they often deal with the themes of “collection” and “collecting”. Drawing on their project “conserving”, for which in 1995–2000 they photographed specimens of animals and humans preserved in alcohol, in natural-history and anatomical collections across Europe, using a large-format camera, they staged the members of the German rock band Rammstein underwater in a huge water tank as the artwork for the album “Mutter”. In their most recent works they explore flowers and plants underwater.
The exhibition, conceived for the Stiftung Starke at the Löwenpalais in Grunewald,
sets the projects in an intense and exciting dialogue with one another.
Since 1998 their work has been seen in numerous international solo and group exhibitions and shown at art fairs around the world.
