I’m Hip
Jazz with a Difference
22 October 2010

‘A warm and expressive voice that delights the listener.’
Ursula Malewski, born in Bonn and now a Berliner by choice, has lived in London for years, where she works as a jazz singer and music educator and runs her own jazz academy.
Her jazz style is a blend of swing, bossa, Latin, ballads, blues, funk and cabaret, and she presents every song in her very own way. Above all she loves songs by Blossom Dearie, Bob Dorough, Dave Frishberg, Stephen Sondheim and Kurt Weill – songs with wit and irony. But ‘jazz standards’ are part of her repertoire too.
At the concert at the Löwenpalais, Ursula Malewski will be joined by the award-winning young English pianist Rick Simpson.
