Corrida Blue
9–31 May 1993

The basement, renovated by members of staff, was inaugurated with scenic installations in eight rooms by the installation and object artist, director and poet Gerald Uhlig, who in January 1993 realised his sensational scenic composition “Pablo Picasso, or I Follow the Matador” (“Pablo Picasso oder ich folge dem Matador”) at the Kulturforum of the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz. The exhibition at the Löwenpalais, partly staged by actors, was a homage to Picasso.
The rooms were arranged by theme, and Uhlig worked with irritations such as “Female Bullfighter Provokes Art Bull” (“Torera reizt Kunststier”), “Art Matador versus Female Bull” (“Kunstmatador versus Stierin”) or the “Wall Street Corrida”.
A colour catalogue accompanied the exhibition, made possible mainly by sponsors.
