“Metamorphosis

How Often Do People Transform Themselves?”

“Metamorphosis – How Often Do People Transform Themselves?”

Once upon a time… there was a simple black ball gown. In 2012 the dress was discovered by the Vietnamese Miss Austria designer La Hong Nhut. At the time it was worn by the Austrian author, philosopher and psychotherapist Dr Monika Wogrolly at the Opernredoute opera ball in Graz. She had borrowed the piece, a good 40 years old, from her friend for this special ball. Inspired by the radiance of this magical piece, La Hong Nhut decided, as part of the project “METAMORPHOSIS” (“METAMORPHOSE”), to “transform” the dress every year from then on for the Opernredoute held in January, adapting it to the needs of its wearer. For year after year it was worn by a different prominent personality, among them the Munich-based actress Aglaia Szyszkowitz (2014). From autumn 2015 this “Dress of Cultures” (“Kleid der Kulturen”) will go on tour and, besides several stops in Austria, the country where it was created, will also be a guest in Berlin for the 25th anniversary of German Unity.

From 25 September to 3 October 2015, the Stiftung Starke in the Löwenpalais in Grunewald will host the “Dress of Cultures”. On the evening of 3 October 2015, to mark the celebration of 25 years of reunification, there will also be a Philosophical Café on the theme “Metamorphosis – How Often Do People Transform Themselves?” and on reunification – “Why Creating Unity Is So Important in Human Culture”.
